Can you believe it? After two rescue groups, one humane society debacle, countless internet searches, and lord knows how many of you calling in your contacts, we found our “baby.” Thanks to an old friend my Obama campaign days, today we brought home an 8-week-old Labrador Retriever/Finnish Lapphund.

He — we named him Jasper — is of course the cutest, smartest puppy in world. His only flaw is a slightly weak stomach, as demonstrated during our ride home when he threw up all over Elfie. Fortunately he didn’t seem to care, and she was a total trooper about it.
So I’m off to bed, no doubt to be woken up many times throughout the night. But that’s why puppies and babies are so cute. If they weren’t, neither species would survive. . .

AAAAAWWWWW! I'm dying of the cuteness. That's the kind of dog we want too. And I forgot to comment on your other post, but I have been disappointed with rescues (private and county run) in the past as well. Maybe they're all overrun because they won't let anyone adopt the animals?
Oh that sweet puppy looks worth the wait! Have a wonderful time! Hope his belly was just having some nervous jitters.

Yay, I'm so happy for you! I heard that vanilla ice cream is good for the weak stomach during car rides, but my last puppy grew out of the problem, so I never tried it.

ALL my puppies have been barfmonsters. I'm not yet sure whether Trouble's outgrown it yet….still a little scared to take her far in the car, but she's past 18 months so she SHOULD be okay. Should….
