Novel In Progress

In January 2013, my friends, Molly Field and Kelly DeBie, told me they were going to start writing fiction. I joined, sort of kicking and screaming, with the thought that I’d write “creative nonfiction” since I hadn’t written (really bad) fiction since college. But by the second prompt, I was getting all nutty and making up my own characters. And then I was writing sex scenes that made me a little bit thankful that my mother was dead. Turns out I like writing fiction. And I actually think I’m good at it. I’m pretty sure this isn’t one of those situations where the tone-deaf girl thinks she can sing and goes on American Idol.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I’m currently calling True. At it’s core, it’s about a group of people who are trying so hard to be true to themselves and everyone else but doing a crap-ass job of it.
