When it comes to humor, I’d say I fall into the self-depricating end of the continuum. The unfortunate part about that is the underlying problem of sometimes believing what you say. And not in a funny-ha-ha way.
Maybe it’s a Chinese thing (I’m half, you know). Maybe it’s just how I was raised. Maybe I’m just like every other girl who started out “all good” and then got to junior high. Whatever it is, I tend to have a hard time seeing my strengths. And making sure other people see them when they’re there.
Anyway, yesterday, I went to a site called Circle of Moms and nominated myself for “Top 25 Funny Moms.” This wasn’t an easy decision. I’m not particularly funny all the time. Or even most of the time. Wry, maybe. Cranky, always. Funny? That’s questionable.
But since they didn’t have a “Top 25 Sarcastic, Whiny Moms who Sometimes Make You Want to Cry” category, I took what I could get.
So this is where you come in. Click on the little pink doodad below and you can vote for me — for this blog — every single day until February 13th. Will this go anywhere? My junior high school self is doubting it. But maybe you all can prove me wrong…
