Thanks to a friend of mine who I’m fairly certain has bodies buried in the desert somewhere, I saw “O” in Vegas last night from what had to be the best seats in the house. We practically could’ve jumped into the pool. Thank god for minimal audience participation. “O,” if you don’t already know, is Cirque du Soleil with water, so it kind of looks like something that Federico Fellini, Walt Disney, Barnum and Bailey, and Tim Burton worked on together while they were all on acid. Anyway, I’m fairly certain that Newt and Elfie may run off and join the cast if they ever see this show. Basic requirements: jumping off of really high stuff into deep water while dancing around in crazy costumes to wacko music. That’s pretty much what they do all day.
My friend, I think, knew I needed to see something amazing right now. It was one of those experiences that make you want to spend your entire life tracking down everything that’s beautiful in the world. And that’s a nice feeling to have for at least a short time. Said the sappy girl. Now if only running off to join the circus were a viable option.
