So I had to pass on this Worst Mom Moment that my friend, Heidi Ayarbe, posted to Facebook about her daughter (“A”). Incidentally, Heidi’s a kick-ass, young adult fiction writer. Her latest book is Wanted.

Awkward elevator moment at the clinic: *semi-full elevator*
A: *turns to guy next to us* What are you here for?
Man ignores her.
(Four-year-olds don’t have volume control)
A: What are you here for?
(Yep. Everyone’s paying attention now.)
Man: I’m going to the otolaryngologist
A: Why?
Man: *lowers voice* Um … I’m getting a nose job.
A: Oh.
I have never seen so many people craning to see some poor guy’s nose or a person leave an elevator so quickly with head so low his nose is plastered to his chest. No. Haven’t had the “socially inappropriate questions” talk with A yet. I’m kind of enjoying this stuff.
Hahahahahahaha….it’s funny when it’s not your kid!

Or when you’re telling it, not living it!
Hilarious that he gave her such honest answers, as opposed to “doctor” and “I don’t feel well”!

I know! Do you think he just panicked?
I’m with Andrea- it’s funny that he chose to be so open about it. Gotta love kids.

Maybe he just felt like he couldn’t lie to a little kid. It’s totally funny. Who knows, maybe she changed his mind.
